Another Sunday, another Broncos loss.
I thought this season was supposed to go better then the last?
The Broncos took on the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau field yesterday, where the Packers dominated 49-23.
Earlier in the game it was announced that the Broncos did indeed plan on playing Tebow during the game. So, first quarter, enter Tebow. Tebow took the snap, ran straight forward for a total of -1 yards. He didn’t come in the game at all after that.
Coach Fox had this to say about Tebow, and the play, after the game: “…we did it once and we lost yardage. That wasn’t all on him by any stretch, but it didn’t prove to be beneficial, so we went in a different direction.”
So pretty much, tried it once, and didn’t bother giving it a second chance. Like say, the end-zone? Where it is clear the Broncos need improving on.
My issue with the “Tebow Package” is that defenders already know what to expect the second 15 takes the field. That does nothing positive for us, obviously.
Mid way through the fourth quarter, Lambeau field was chanting “TE-BOW TE-BOW TE-BOW” wanting to see him play in the final minutes of a tough loss. I found this hugely entertaining.
For Bronco fans I say this: What else did you expect from a Super Bowl winning team and a team on the mends of re-building? It all hurts nonetheless, and it’s a loss no matter how you look at it, but that is just the state of the team now. We have a tough schedule up ahead, and we need the heart, and the athleticism of the team to start shinning, now.
For Tebow fans: It’s frustrating. I know. You want him somewhere where he actually will see the field for more than a play. (Where as I am hugely selfish and want, and believe in him being a Bronco) Hang in there. Patience. “Good things come to those who wait.” I’m certain later in the season he will be playing more. And hopefully, starting.
